The British have been warned of a new threat. Not only are the prices in stores rising every day, but non-food items are rising for various reasons. Now Britain is faced with heat and drought, due to which residents may simply not have enough vegetables. The Telegraph writes about it.
Now vegetables are presented on the shelves in British stores in a smaller volume than before. Vegetable growers complain about the drought and the record temperature on the thermometers. Vegetables simply die in the beds. According to the Executive Director of the British Association of Vegetable Growers, Jack Ward, the British are on the verge of a shortage of vegetables (onions, potatoes, carrots, lettuce, etc.): local farmers are unable to meet domestic demand.
It is noteworthy that drought and heat prevail in many European countries. All Europeans have a similar problem, which means that it is impossible to compensate for a crop failure in one of them by increasing supplies from the other: there is simply nowhere to bring vegetables.
