Azerbaijan in the first half of 2022 reduced the export of potatoes by 14.8%, the import of these products into the country decreased by 3.6%, the government told Interfax-Azerbaijan.
In January-June 2022, Azerbaijan exported 78.156 thousand tons of potatoes (a decrease of 14.8%) in the amount of $35 million 59.15 thousand (a decrease of 12%).
The main export was to Russia. In particular, in January-June, 73.532 thousand tons of potatoes were exported to Russia (a decrease of 13.5%) in the amount of $33 million 384.15 thousand (a decrease of 12.8%). In general, the Russian Federation accounted for 93.9% of potato exports from Azerbaijan in the reporting period.
At the same time, in the first half of 2021, 100,051 thousand tons of potatoes were imported to Azerbaijan (a decrease of 3.6%) in the amount of $26.308 million (an increase of 1.7%). Iran – 36.128 thousand tons of potatoes (worth $8 million 932 thousand), Turkey – 30.62 thousand tons worth $7 million 669 thousand, Pakistan – 24.555 thousand tons worth $7 million 3666 thousand
In 2021, Azerbaijan exported 92.343 thousand tons of potatoes worth $40 million 777.41 thousand.
