Astrakhan farmers will start growing Belarusian varieties of potatoes as early as 2023. So far, we are talking only about trial plots, where they will experiment with promising root crop varieties. This was told by the Minister of Agriculture and Fishing Industry of the Astrakhan region Ruslan Pashaev.
“In 2023, Astrakhan farmers will grow promising varieties of Belarusian potatoes on trial plots. In addition, the possibility of organizing scientific research and experiments on seed production in the Astrakhan region is being discussed, we will allocate the necessary space to our Belarusian colleagues for these purposes,” Pashayev said during a meeting of the regional government, summing up his recent visit to Belarus.
Another important area of Astrakhan-Belarusian cooperation in the field of agriculture should be providing farmers with the necessary equipment. In this context, a significant event will be the imminent opening of a dealer center of Minsk Tractor Works OJSC in the Narimanov district. Now the construction work at the facility has entered the final stage.
