Altai potato growers are increasing their storage capacity

Two large vegetable farms in the Altai Territory have begun the construction of modern warehouses for storing potatoes.
“Saturn-2” LLC from Pervomaisky district invests 64 million rubles in the construction of a hangar with an area of more than 2.6 thousand square meters. It has a modern ventilation system that works with CO2, humidity and temperature sensors. In the future, refrigeration units will also appear here. The warehouse is designed for long-term storage of 5 thousand tons of potatoes. Thanks to the new facility, the company will be able to store tubers without loss of quality until the beginning of the next harvest.
“Soyuzagro” LLC in the territory of the Kytman district is preparing to put into operation three vegetable storages designed for 6 thousand tons of agricultural products at once. The ventilation and cooling system will allow the company to store potatoes until the end of spring or early summer. Thus, there will be no need to sell the harvest in the autumn period, when there is a collapse in prices on the market. About 75 million rubles have been invested in this project.
