Novosibirsk agrarians are preparing equipment: for example, in the village of Yarkovo, a modern unit will enter the fields in the fall.
It is one of the main crops that has been grown here for several years. The second bread is delivered to the counters of the region and neighboring regions. The villagers are faced with the task of increasing the area under crops.
On a huge field of hundreds of hectares, potatoes bloom together. The farm says that this season the weather is on the side of the field growers: the rains seem to be on schedule. The sowing campaign was carried out in an unusually short time, instead of 1-1.5 months, it was completed in three weeks.
Treated for pests and diseases. Seed potatoes are harvested in August when the tubers reach the required size. To do this, the tops are artificially aged, treated with a special solution.
Potatoes on the farm are grown from elite Dutch material. Seeds are 80 percent of their own, give a good harvest. Forecasts for 2022 have already been given by a special commission.
“They dig up several bushes, count the tubers and say the approximate yield. I think it will be 27-30 centners per hectare,” says Ilya Nikolaev, foreman of the crop production department of the Yarkovskoye agricultural enterprise.
Potatoes are in demand both in Novosibirsk and in the neighboring Kemerovo region. The main crop goes to store shelves. The plans are to increase the sown area.
“We need to build a new modern storage facility with refrigerators and the necessary equipment. We have no other choice: only to develop, increase productivity,” Alexander Kovalev, chief agronomist of the agricultural enterprise, is sure.
Vegetable stores are also being prepared for the harvest, old buildings are being reconstructed. After the repair, modern equipment will be installed that will provide the necessary ventilation of the premises and preserve the harvest until next spring.
