Potato farming company HZPC forecasts sales in fiscal year 2022-23 to be up 10 percent from the previous fiscal year. Then the company switched to 352 million euros. Gross profit is expected to reach 66 million euros, up slightly from 63.9 million euros in the 2021-2022 financial year.
An important reason for the increase in sales is the strikingly high international transport costs in 2022. At the beginning of 2023, transport prices fell sharply, according to hzpc. According to director Gerard Bax, the result is growing mainly due to areas outside of Europe. He is referring to places where licensed cultivation takes place, such as Asia and the United States.
The trading house expects its licensees to trade 16 percent more hzpc grades than a year earlier. The volume of trade in seed potatoes is expected to increase to a limited extent. This trade takes place mainly in and out of Europe.
