Agrarians of the Stavropol Territory have removed a fifth of the potato area. More than 41 thousand tons of potatoes have been dug up with an average yield of 373 centners per hectare.
Most of the crop was harvested in the Ipatovsky, Krasnogvardeysky and Budyonnovsky districts, the regional Ministry of Agriculture noted.
In the SHP “Tersky” of the Budyonnovsky district, special attention is paid to irrigation and equipment for timely irrigation, which significantly increases the yield.
Modern technology allows you to collect potatoes efficiently, quickly and without loss.
Young potatoes are sold both in the Stavropol Territory and beyond.
“Government support measures under the regional program “Development of Agriculture” help. In the current year, more than 98 million rubles have been allocated to vegetable growers and potato growers on the terms of co-financing. In particular, 10.6 million rubles are provided to support potato growing,” said Yevgeny Grishchenko, First Deputy Head of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture.
No wonder potatoes are called the second bread. It is not only one of the main food products, it also serves as a good predecessor in the crop rotation for all grain crops, including spring wheat, corn, legumes.
