The Belarusian leader also demanded that expensive equipment be treated with care and properly serviced.
Agricultural enterprises of Belarus should use domestic equipment and move away from imports, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko said during a visit to the Pruzhany region.
He noted that avoiding imports is an important task.
“To the point of determining: I allow you to buy a combine, I allow you to buy a seeder. The rest is Belarusian,” Lukashenka is quoted by his press service as saying.
According to the president, otherwise it will not be possible to ensure the loading of Belarusian enterprises.
The Belarusian leader stressed that manufacturers of domestic equipment must provide warranty service for vehicles for at least three years.
“We must use our own. Let us somewhere fall short of world standards. But this is our equipment. Therefore, we need to do our own – import substitution. We need our own, our own, our own! And import substitution!” Lukashenka drew attention
The Belarusian leader also touched upon the topic of the life of expensive agricultural machinery. He said that she should work for at least 15 years, but not 10.
“In terms of technology, we will talk about the service of combines and energy-saturated tractors for 15 years. No less,” Lukashenka added.
According to him, equipment must be protected, as it costs a lot of money. The head of state promised that the region’s order for the next year on equipment would be fulfilled.
Village Revival Program
Lukashenka recalled that the village revival program initiated by former Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Popkov and ex-Chairman of the National Bank Piotr Prokopovich has justified itself. Although it required extraordinary measures and a lot of money, this program yielded results.
“Thank God that they did so. Otherwise, we would have nothing to feed our people,” the president added.
