Also, the import ban applies to corn seeds from the French place of shipment Limagrain Europe in connection with the detection of corn leaf spot; tomato seed from the Netherlands shipping point of Axia Vegetable Seeds due to the detection of pepino mosaic virus; soybean seed from Semences Prograin Inc.’s Canadian shipping location. in connection with the detection of purple cercosporosis.
The measures were taken due to the identification of quarantine objects for Russia and the EAEU member countries and the failure of the national organizations for quarantine and plant protection of Germany, France, the Netherlands and Canada to take urgent measures to ensure the phytosanitary safety of products. The restrictions were introduced on the basis of the VII International Plant Protection Convention (Rome, 1951, as amended in 1997) and Federal Law No. 206-FZ of July 21, 2014 “On Plant Quarantine”.
