The use of modern digital technologies will optimize many processes in agriculture, increase plant yields, and animal productivity. This was announced on August 4 by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian-Food Policy and Environmental Management Alexei Mayorov.
According to him, solving the problem of digital transformation of agriculture is especially important in the context of sanctions. Mayorov said that this issue was submitted for consideration by the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council under the leadership of the First Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Turchak. A seminar-meeting is scheduled for September 14 to develop preliminary proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers, federal and regional executive authorities on the effective solution of this problem.
World practice and the experience of successful domestic agricultural producers show that the use of modern digital technologies makes it possible to create optimal conditions that provide a significant increase in plant yields, animal productivity and labor productivity throughout the entire life cycle of agricultural products.

In addition, the senator noted, digitalization leads to lower costs for fuels and lubricants, electricity, plant protection products, and wages.
The parliamentarian said that the committee he heads is systematically dealing with the issue of digital transformation of agriculture, and many proposals based on the results of the events have already been put into practice.
Recall that earlier, the first deputy head of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian Food Policy and Environmental Management, Sergei Mitin, said that increasing the efficiency of agriculture is possible only through the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and expanding the fleet of equipment.
According to him, with positive changes in the agro-industrial complex, Russia continues to lag behind in terms of such performance indicators as yield, milk yield, daily animal gain.
