Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade Bakhyt Sultanov and Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev told whether they are buying food and how much their food basket has risen in price since the beginning of the year.
The head of the Ministry of Trade said that on weekends he and his family go to shops and markets to buy groceries.
“Of course, as family people, we must also ensure food security at home. We have certain culinary preferences, like every family. For example, when you need pilaf, you need to go and buy more expensive meat, and so on. Of course, we buy and we have an idea about prices,” the head of the Ministry of Trade replied in the central communications service.
Bakhyt Sultanov said that the cost of the family food basket has increased, and the reason for this is inflation.
“For a number of products, of course, I see that prices are rising. I won’t name specific figures, because I don’t always travel myself,” Bakhyt Sultanov said.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Yerbol Karashukeev, turned out to be busier and said that he had no time for shopping.
“I can afford to go with my family once or twice a month and buy groceries. The only thing is that we always buy only Kazakh products. for vegetables – potatoes and carrots – prices were stable. There was no big rush for them thanks to the measures taken by the ministry,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture replied.
