According to the Roadmap, the two countries will begin to cooperate in the fields of agricultural insurance, digitalization of agriculture and other areas.
A roadmap for cooperation in the field of agriculture was signed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The document was approved on the sidelines of the meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States.
The Roadmap reflects such issues as the exchange of experience between the two countries in the field of agricultural insurance, the digitalization of agriculture, the application of state support mechanisms for agriculture, the creation of a joint venture in sericulture and other areas of cooperation.
The meeting, which is being held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreev, is attended by the ministers of agriculture of the countries included in the Turkic Council and countries invited as observers.
The ministerial meeting is aimed at discussing the possibilities of expanding cooperation and increasing mutual trade, as well as the implementation of projects of mutual interest to the participating states.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Inam Kerimov said that Azerbaijan is making great efforts for the sustainable transformation of the agrarian food system. The main principles on this path are “green energy”, digitalization and innovative solutions.
“Azerbaijan is implementing a successful digital transformation of agriculture. The current practice has been recognized by relevant international organizations as one of the best in the world,” the minister said.
More than 500,000 farmers in Azerbaijan use digital agricultural services and government support through the electronic agricultural information system, Karimov said.
Speakers at the meeting noted that the Turkic countries have good potential for cooperation in all areas of agriculture.
In conclusion, the final declaration of the First Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States was adopted.
