Pacific Northwest instrumentation manufacturer, Felix Instruments – Applied Food Science, has announced a joint marketing collaboration with Hanna Instruments. Together they will work to promote and integrate each other’s products and services in order to help fresh produce growers expand their testing capabilities, the companies said.
Hanna’s line of analytical instruments are used in fresh produce quality assurance labs to test specific produce parameters such as sugar levels, acidity, and trace compounds. Felix Instruments features a line of portable food science tools, including the F-750 Produce Quality Meter. The meter is a light-weight, battery-powered device that uses near-infrared spectroscopy to non-destructively measure quality factors from dry matter and total soluble solids (TSS or brix), to skin color and acidity, the company said.
Felix Instruments will work as a distribution partner for Hanna—assisting clients using the F-750 in selecting, acquiring, and implementing complementary Hanna Instruments including refractometers, PH meters, acid titrators, and other analytical lab equipment.
