In the Khabarovsk Territory, they started collecting early potatoes. On August 8, the first batch of 35 tons was collected in the region. More than half of the harvest will come from farms in the Lazo district. You can buy fresh potatoes now at weekend fairs and in retail chains. But the peak of the collection will come later – in the first decade of September.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Territory, 13 organizations and 86 peasant (farm) enterprises grow potatoes and vegetables in the region.
The main centers are the districts named after Lazo and Khabarovsk. The areas under planting in the Amur, Komsomolsk and Nanai regions are increasing.
This year, 7,000 hectares were allotted for potatoes in the region, including private farms. Of these, in agricultural organizations and farms – 863 hectares. For vegetables – 2.4 thousand hectares. The figures are comparable to 2021.
Every year, through the Ministry of Agriculture, farmers who grow vegetables receive support. So, this year they were allocated 4.4 million rubles for work.
14 million were provided for the purchase of elite seeds. Currently, the ministry is considering documents from agricultural producers to receive this support.
Recall that in July, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that producers of potatoes and other vegetables would receive subsidies for agrotechnological work as part of a new federal project.
Its goal is to increase the production of vegetables by 20% by 2030, potatoes – by 18%. Particular emphasis will be placed on the development of domestic breeding and seed production to ensure the country’s food security.
