Trade fairs, AGROS in Russia and International Field Days Turkey, impress exhibitors and visitors with up-to-date exhibition and technical program – Successful implementation of hygiene concepts – Further trade fairs in Ukraine, the Netherlands and Romania imminent

(DLG). The international trade fair business of the DLG (German Agricultural Society) is picking up speed again following relaxation of the restrictions related to the pandemic. In Russia and Turkey, the first DLG exhibitions successfully took place again as in-person events with locally adapted event and hygiene concepts. Further trade fairs will follow in targeted European countries over the coming weeks and months.

DLG has now successfully begun a summer of international trade fairs in 2021, following the postponements and cancellations of international exhibitions due to the pandemic. In Russia, AGROS, the international trade fair for animal husbandry, breeding and fodder production in Russia, successfully restarted, taking place May 18-20, 2021. With 278 exhibitors from 22 countries, the trade fair held in Moscow, Russia welcomed more than 6,000 trade visitors with an attractive exhibition and technical program as well as a successfully implemented hygiene concept.

Held last month May 25-28 in Tekirdağ, Karaevli, Turkey, the eighth edition of the outdoor International Field Days Turkey presented new products, technologies and strategies for crop production on 12 hectares. Over 15,000 trade visitors attended the Turkish venue dedicated to crop production professionals in the region.

A series of DLG trade shows in selected European countries will be launched over the summer. Following its successful launch in 2020, the second edition of Potato Days Turkey, the specialized exhibition for potato production in Turkey, will be held from August 18-20. The DLG, in close cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Potato Producers, will organize the second Ukrainian Potato Day on August 26 and 27 in Chulakivka in Southern Ukraine. In parallel, the “Irrigation Show & Conference” will celebrate its premiere at that event.

PotatoEurope, the outdoor exhibition for potato cultivation and machinery, will be opening its doors on September 1-2 in the Netherlands. With the main guiding theme “What’s Now, What’s New and What’s the Future,” the leading trade show for potato professionals will offer an insight into current developments in the potato markets, present the latest technologies and look towards the future of the industry. In the forestry sector, the event, Forest Romania, in Zizin, Brasov County, will once again get underway from September 9-11. As a platform for the professional forestry industry of Romania and South-eastern Europe, the open-air exhibition will present live demonstrations of harvesting and transport taking into account the current challenges for the European market.

Important impetus for the international trade fair business

“With these attractive exhibition offerings, practical technical programs and flexible hygiene concepts, the international DLG trade fair business has had a successful restart in the wake of the postponements caused by the pandemic,” said Tobias Eichberg, Managing Director of DLG’s Exhibitions Department.

“In numerous conversations, exhibitors and visitors have expressed their satisfaction at finally being able to meet again in person. The response to the successful implementation of our international trade fairs underlines the importance of these events as business platforms for the international agricultural sector,” commented Eichberg, further adding that the successful restart in the international trade fair business provide an important impetus for Agritechnica 2022 with positive exhibitor feedback received to the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery, taking place in Hanover in Germany February 27 to March 5, 2022.
