In the Kaluga region, by June 10, they plan to complete the spring sowing campaign. Minister of Agriculture Leonid Gromov spoke about this at a government meeting on Monday, May 23.
According to him, the work is being carried out on a total area of 155.2 thousand hectares. To date, farmers have processed 92 thousand hectares, which is more than 70% of the plan.
The plan for sowing spring crops has been completed by 70%, vegetables by 45%, including potatoes by 56%, the Vest newspaper reports.
In 2022, the authorities intend to increase the production of oilseeds, potatoes and open field vegetables by about a third, and rapeseed by almost two times. About 500 thousand tons of feed will be prepared.
