In Russia, at the end of the year, we expect an increase in the vegetable harvest

According to preliminary data, this year the area under potatoes and ground vegetables has grown by 2.5%. At the same time, the weather conditions are more favorable for these crops than last year.

To date, 139 thousand tons of potatoes have been dug up (+15%). Moreover, according to the Potato Union, the yield is much higher than last year – at some enterprises it exceeds 60 tons / ha.

164.9 thousand tons of vegetables were also harvested.

According to the forecast, in general, potato production will amount to at least 6.8 million tons, and open–ground vegetables – 5.2 million tons. This will completely close the internal needs, including processing enterprises.
