Kamchatka to Launch Its First Potato Chips Production Plant — A Project by LLC “HOLKAM AGRO”

The first potato chips production facility in the Kamchatka region is set to open in the coming weeks, according to LLC “HOLKAM AGRO”, the company behind the project. This marks a significant milestone in the development of potato processing infrastructure in Russia’s Far East.

According to the company, the factory will use locally grown potatoes harvested from their own fields in Kamchatka. This approach ensures consistent product quality and increases the overall efficiency of the region’s agri-food sector.

The launch of the plant is expected to contribute to:

  • the creation of new jobs,
  • increased demand for local agricultural produce,
  • expansion of the domestic range of processed potato products.

“We want Kamchatka-grown potatoes to gain recognition not only as a fresh product but also as a high-quality processed item available on store shelves across the country,” commented representatives of LLC “HOLKAM AGRO”.

Final commissioning and setup works are currently underway. The grand opening is scheduled for the coming weeks, with the first product batches expected to be released under a new regional brand within this year.

The project is being implemented with support from regional authorities and aligns with the strategic agenda for boosting agricultural processing in Russia’s Far East. Given the region’s logistical challenges and the strong national focus on import substitution, the new plant in Kamchatka is poised to become a key growth driver in the potato snack segment.

POTATOES NEWS will continue to follow the progress of this project and report on the first production season at the new facility.
