Belgapom Price Quotation for 2024-2025 Season: Fontane and Challenger

Merelbeke – For the 2024-2025 season, Belgapom will publish weekly price quotations for the potato varieties Fontane and Challenger. As in previous years, the quotations will be released every Friday morning and made available on the Belgapom website (www.belgapom.be).

Christophe Vermeulen, CEO of Belgapom, stated, “The weekly price quotations for Fontane and Challenger cover a significant portion of potato transactions. These quotations remain a crucial tool for ensuring transparency in the potato market.”

The Belgapom price reflects the most common price established over the previous three working days for the varieties Fontane and Challenger. This price applies to potatoes suitable for processing into frozen fries, with a minimum size of 35 mm, delivered loose on trucks by the producer, for immediate delivery or collection.

New Price Commission Regulation

Starting this season, a new regulation governing the Belgapom Price Commission will come into effect. This regulation was developed in consultation with the Belgian Competition Authority (BMA) to comply with both European and Belgian competition laws. Interested parties can access the full regulation, following final approval by the BMA, on the Belgapom website alongside the published quotations.
