Become a ‘Lucky Potato’ in 2025: Join the Potato Congress!

The expression “to be a lucky potato” dates back to the 19th century, when sailors used it to describe their good fortune. In 2025, you too can feel like a lucky potato by attending the Potato Congress!

Potatoes are an incredible product, beneficial for both health and the environment. During Christmas, many of us enjoy boiled, caramelized, or roasted potatoes. But their role extends far beyond holiday dishes: potato starch and flour are used in countless food products and industrial applications.

On January 24, 2025, Landbrug & Fødevarer invites you to the annual Potato Congress at the VINGSTED active hotel and conference center. The event will focus on innovations in potato cultivation, market development, and consumer trends.

Among the speakers are:

  • Fedde Sijbrandij (Wageningen University & Research)
  • Bettina Buhl (Det Grønne Museum)
  • Per Mandrup (Culinary Institute by VejleErhverv)
  • Jan Kristensen (Dansk Cater)
  • Agnes Qvortrup (Landbrug & Fødevarer) and others.

The program and registration details are available here: Potato Congress 2025.

In 2024, potatoes covered 65,447 hectares in Denmark, accounting for 2.5% of the total cultivated area.

Join the 2025 congress to explore the future of potatoes, build valuable connections, and gain fresh inspiration!
