Crimea, Dzhankoysky District: 300 ha of the “borsch set” by farmer Chelebiev

We’re at the farm of Kirim Abdurashidovich Chelebiev (Republic of Crimea, Dzhankoysky District). About 300 hectares here are under the “borsch set” of vegetables — potatoes, onions, carrots (as well as tomatoes and eggplant). The season is hot: plants are under stress and emergence is patchy in places, so the focus is on disciplined field operations and a systematic protection program.

What we saw in the field:

  • Potatoes are holding up differently across plots, but the canopy is protected and there’s solid potential.
  • Onions respond to precise timing of operations and careful nutrition.
  • Carrots are demanding at the start — with weak emergence, gentle feeding and monitoring make the difference.

“Let everyone stick to their job — and here in Crimea they do it with quality,” — from our on-site recording.
